Looks like a bee, doesn’t it?

If I were juicy, tasty and defenseless I’d want to look like something that could inflict pain, too. These guys are really flies disguised as bees: two wings instead of four, different kind of mouth parts, no constriction between the thorax and the abdomen. The larvae live in yucky water, but leave your garbage and other nasty things alone. TMI?
