These old flowering quince bushes were here when we moved in. Since they’re in the back of the garden, we’ve only pruned them for shape and tried to eradicate a lot of nasty smothering raspberries that sprout like the thorn vines of some evil fairy tale witch.
A great thing with these plants is that some early yellow daffodils bloom at the same time, for a yellow-pink color splash. Since our flowering quince just hides a fence behind the vegetable garden, they’re just a splash of color at the far end of the garden.
