California aster seeds

Only twigs and fuzz now

This is the same plant that was covered by butterflies late last summer – California aster (A. chilensis). Now, it looks like bits of fuzz clinging to twigs. Fog-shrouded, the tufts take on a glitter. If the sun peeks through, the dew will sparkle on the backlit fuzz.
